How to Maintain 11% EPF Contribution Rate

As announced during the Budget 2022 Speech, the reduced 9% EPF rate for employee contributions has been extended until June 2022 payroll (July 2022 contribution).

If any of your employees wish to maintain their contribution rate at 11%, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Employees should download the KWSP 17A (Khas 2022).

Step 2: The employee should fill in the form and sign it, then send it to their employer. Employers should retain the forms for their records.

Step 3: Employers should then submit their employees’ application via their Employer iAkaun. Submission options include blank form, copying from previous contribution statement (and deleting employees who do not want to contribute at 11%), or uploading a CSV file. If you select the CSV file option, click on Next and you will be able to download the file template and instructions.

Please note that the form must be completed and application submitted again for 2022, even if the employee already applied in 2021, since last year’s form was only until December 2021 payroll.

The EPF contribution rates in PayrollPanda will remain unchanged so if any of your employees are contributing at a different rate in 2022 than they were in 2021, please change the rate under the Statutory Requirements tab in the employee’s profile.
