You only apply payroll items as recurring for payments that do not change on a month-to-month basis and are usually part of the employee's contract.
Examples would be: child care allowance, travel/petrol allowance, parking allowance, levy for foreign worker, director's fee etc. The app will assume the employee will get this payroll item every month till year end and thus affect their total earnings and PCB calculation.
IMPORTANT: Do not enter one-off payroll items (i.e bonus) here! For one-off payroll items, kindly refer to point 2. Additional Payroll Items in this help article.
Also note that certain payroll items which are usually paid on a monthly basis but for which you do not know the amount in advance (such as Overtime, Commission, Incentives etc.) should still be selected as recurring under the employee's profile but with the amount set to 0. When you run payroll, you can enter the relevant figures into each item accordingly or leave it as 0 if no payout is made for that particular payroll month.
